Q: Can Hylotyte® Red 100 be used for both fuel and water?

A: No. Hylotyte® Red 100 is not resistant to fuel and should not be used to seal any joint where fuel is present. However, it is highly resistant to hot water and engine coolant.
Q: What is semi-hardening?

A: Semi-hardening means the product provides an instant seal; however it will harden over time, increasing its resistance to environmental conditions.

A: Hylotyte® Red 100 is a semi-hardening gasket sealant.
Q: What makes Hylomar® different from other sealants?

A: Hylotyte® Red 100 is highly resistant to oils and hot water.
Q: Is Hylomar® an RTV silicone product?

A: No. Hylotyte® Red 100 is not an RTV silicone.
Q: Can I use Hylomar® for applications requiring water resistance?

A: Hylotyte® Red 100 was specifically designed for engine water applications such as water pumps, cylinder liners and head gaskets.
Q: What is the difference between Hylomar® M and Hylotyte® Red 100?

A: Hylotyte® Red 100 has superior water and coolant resistance.
Q: Can Hylotyte® Red 100 be used without a gasket?

A: Yes. Hylotyte® Red 100 can be used without a gasket. Care must be taken to make sure if a gasket is being replaced that it did not have a shimming effect on the application.
Q: Can I use Hylotyte® Red as a thread sealant?

A: Yes, Hylotyte® Red is suitable for sealing threads.
Q: Can I use Hylotyte® Red on rubber gaskets/o-rings?

A: Hylotyte® Red is suitable for use on rubber o-rings and gaskets. Care should be taken to make sure the solvent has fully evaporated prior to assembly.
